Our Projects in Sherborne

Sherborne Castles Rotary club, is a group of motivated men and women from the town who, as well as socialising and enjoying the company of like-minded members, are well known in the town for the events we organise including International Film Festival and  the Sherborne Classic and Supercar Show.

Our Youth Projects in Sherborne

In a town which is known for its schools, it is not surprising that our activities include running Rotary competitions including the popular Youth Speaks and Young Writer.  Our members are actively involved with youth organisations in Sherborne and so it will be no surprise that we are often able to provide funding for activities such as  RYLA, the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) and we since the 2012 Olympic Games we have awarded two bursaries to pupils of the Gryphon School who aspire to achieve national and internatial level in their chosen sports.

What is Rotary?

As a Rotary club we are part of Rotary International which comprises 1.2 million members in over 200 countries worldwide.  That is a huge network of like-minded people giving their time to improve lives.  Members of our club have travelled overseas to work with local Rotarians on projects such as the Polio eradication project or simply to understand how other clubs worldwide work and to enjoy fellowship with other Rotarians.

We meet twice each month at the Crown Hotel Sherborne, to meet up and plan our projects and activites.  Additionally there are many social events which members can chooose to join in,
